Van Zant House

We are in need of a good local Jax/FL attorney to defend against a bogus lawsuit brought by a wildly unethical HVAC contractor against the Van Zant House. Won't bore you with all the details, but long story short, the guy didn't pull a permit, apparently to hide the shoddy work he did. Was supposed to replace ALL of the duct work and instead only connected like two or three of them, so that the vast majority of expensive heat and AC we've been paying for, has been blowing up into the attic, and probably damaging the system, since it has to work way harder to maintain temperature as a result. The contractor is a textbook bully, trying to "cost us as much money as possible". Would prefer a solo practitioner lawyer willing to let us help with the case prep work and not charge an arm and a leg. Please DM any names/numbers. Hoping someone in the network can help!

Hey y'all, huge favor to ask, that will just take a minute of your time. Not gonna lie, this year has been a rough one for the Van Zant House. And we get it, times are tough, and not as many people have the extra money to travel and come stay with us. On top of this, AirBnB has made things harder, too. Not only do they take a HUGE 15.5% commission off every booking, but they take it on cleaning and other fees as well. And, they constantly change their search to focus on the properties that make them the most money. Better days are ahead, and all we can do is help each other through the rough patches. We've had a lot of people work with us over the more than a decade of ownership and restoration of the Van Zant House. Most of them, we greatly appreciate. But when people try to get away with cheating us or halfway doing work, we tend to take offense and we will defend our position vigorously if challenged. Moral of the story, do good work, get paid. Don't, and you won't, unless/until you do it right.
