Next month, one of Michigan’s most beautiful holiday experiences gets underway as SkyBridge Michigan at Boyne Mountain is covered in more than 200,000 twinkling lights for its 2026 “Lights in the Sky” season. Beginning later in November, you can ride the scenic chairlift to the top of the mountain before stepping onto the huge suspension bridge glowing above Boyne Valley. The bridge stretches 1,200 feet between McLouth and Disciples Ridge and sits about 118 feet above the valley floor, giving you wide views of the winter scenery below. Along the way, lights cover the railings and timber arches, with hanging lighted snowflakes adding even more Christmas color. Near the center is a 36-foot glass-floor section where you can look straight down beneath your feet. SkyBridge Michigan only opened in October 2022 and is the world’s longest timber-towered suspension bridge. Your ticket includes the chairlift and unlimited bridge crossings for that day, so you can see it during daylight and return after dark when the lights really stand out. The display continues through the winter months.
