The Stone Mason & The Bone Collector

This weekend we were visited by a Stone Mason and his daughter. He said they were river people. His daughter is a bone collector. She is 12. I, too, am a bone collector.

The father told me a story about stones. "You see, a rock becomes a stone only when touched by a human hand."

"Tell me more," I say.

He continued, "A rock is of the earth - still a rock if disturbed by nature. When a human picks up a rock, a relationship is born. Only then does it become a stone."

Wide-eyed I ask, "Why?"

"A rock turns into a stone when it has a story to share. Even if the person holding the stone can't hear the story, the story is told," he says softly with a tiny smile.

I glance at the bone collector, she already knows as she has formed relationships with many stones.

"I never take stones from the forest."

A little reminder.

Everything is a gift - everything. The wonderful experiences, the unsolicited advise, the sunny days, the wrong turns, everything.

All of these things we can CHOOSE to take with us or leave behind.

No explanation needed.

We don't have to plea our case. We can just say no or yes or even nothing at all.

We are the ones living this life and we are all having different experiences. ❤️

☀️🧘 FREE Yoga & Zumba at the Grandview Amphitheater - June-Sept.

I'll be teaching June 6th, June 13th, June 20th, August 1st, August 15th, August 29th, and possibly Sept. 19th! Saturdays 8-9am - 13501 Byars Road, Grandview, MO.

This Amphitheater is amazing and so beautiful!!! If anyone wants to carpool, send me a message and we can meet at my house!
