The 2026 Bark Eater Team! ❤️ We had our end of season staff hike and dinner yesterday. There were some good belly laughs and many reflections on the last 6 months. We are so grateful for Wynde Kate and Amelia and the myriad ways they help us make this place so beautiful, welcoming and special. We’ve got a couple more weeks together with a big wedding weekend , a meditation retreat, and fall garden clean up. Then Wynde Kate is off traveling to Patagonia and Amelia is headed back to Chicago. Tyler will be brushing hogging the meadows until further notice and I’ll be knitting by the wood stove and going into hibernation mode . I’m excited for 🧶 ❄️ ⛷️☃️🎄✨

Flower of the Week: Hydrangea! Other than the white hydrangea, the fun colors of hydrangeas are based on the pH level of the soil. Acidic soil creates blue flowers while neutral soil creates purple! If you’re someone with pollen allergies, hydrangeas are known for having a stickier pollen that doesn’t blow away easily, making it less likely to trigger allergies.

What a dream of a wedding party! Cori and Derek celebrated their union here this past weekend and it was truly incredible. Such a wonderful group of people came together to surround them and made magic happen. A few personal highlights… They made their own b**r for the wedding. (Look at those labels - it was tasty too!) They had Loon cake toppers! (So ADK adorable.) The groom delivered the best vows I’ve ever heard in the form of a poem that had the entire tent laughing and crying. And they had their ceremony at sunrise on Giant Mountain (also the site of their first date - so sweet!)
