Kaufman, Texas - WAFFLE HOUSE PREPPING NEW RESTAURANT
Waffle House, the iconic 24-hour diner brand famous for its all-day breakfast and signature scattered hashbrowns, is preparing to expand its North Texas footprint with a brand new location in Kaufman County.
State filings reveal plans for a $300,000 ground-up construction project located at 2210 Old Kemp Highway. The new diner will be strategically positioned off Highway 175, situated on a commercial parcel right between the local McDonald's and Walmart Supercenter.
The 1,840-square-foot new construction project will deliver a complete, purpose-built restaurant facility. The project will involve all necessary interior and exterior elements to fully equip the site and support the brand's classic round-the-clock diner operations.
Site work for the new restaurant is scheduled to begin late next year on September 1, 2027, targeting a winter completion by February 29, 2028.
