Nestled behind two large Bodark trees (also known as Osage Orange trees) you will find front porch comfort and Texas hospitality in our rustic, elegant, and romantic vacation r

entals. The Bois D’ Arc pronounced [boh dahrk] tree is known for it’s twisty, formable thorny branches and “horse apples” that fall from it
each year. In the 1800’s the branches were woven together to be horse high, bull strong, and hog tight” before settlers had access to barbed wire- commonly used as fencing. The two original bungalows were a home kit purchased from a catalog in the 1920s.

RIBBON CUTTING 10 AM FRIDAY

Get a sneak peek inside the new Heart of the Hills Heritage Center during the ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 8 at 10 AM! The public is invited to celebrate this special occasion and tour the newly installed exhibits until 12 PM.

Then join us for the Grand Opening Celebration Saturday, May 9 from 10 AM–4 PM for self-guided tours of immersive, sensory-rich exhibits exploring the unique history of Kerr County and the Hill Country.
