What does your ideal Florida Keys stay look like, a quick weekend away or a few extra days by the ocean?

10/14/2026

Halfway through the week feels like a good time to slow things down. 🌊

Vacation doesn't always need a schedule. Some afternoons are better spent finding a comfortable place near the beach, bringing along a good book, watching the water, or talking with the people you came to the Keys to spend time with.

That's the kind of pace we appreciate here in Key Colony Beach.

At Glunz Ocean Beach Hotel & Resort, being beachfront means the ocean can simply become part of your day. Take a walk along the beach, stop and enjoy the view, or let yourself do absolutely nothing for a little while.

Those quiet moments can end up becoming some of the ones you remember most.

If you had a free afternoon by the ocean today, would you grab a book, take a beach walk, or simply sit and enjoy the view?

When you're packing for the Florida Keys, it's easy to think swimsuit, flip-flops, and you're done.

We'd leave a little more room in that suitcase.

A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and a reusable water bottle can all come in handy when your plans include spending time outdoors or exploring different parts of the Keys.

It's also a good idea to check the weather forecast shortly before your trip. Florida weather can influence what you'll want with you on any particular day, and being prepared makes it easier to decide what kind of adventure you're having once you're here.

Most importantly, don't fill every minute of the vacation before you arrive.

Leave a little room in the schedule for an unexpected stop, a longer morning by the water, or an afternoon when everyone agrees that staying at the beach sounds better than going anywhere.

Experienced Florida Keys travelers, what's one thing that's always in your suitcase?

Sunday mornings feel a little different when the ocean is right outside. 🌊

There is something about waking up in Key Colony Beach, stepping outside, and taking in the colors of the water before the day really gets going. No complicated plans are needed. Sometimes the nicest part of a Florida Keys getaway is simply finding your favorite spot by the beach and staying there awhile.

At Glunz Ocean Beach Hotel & Resort, we love the quieter moments just as much as the big vacation adventures. A morning by the water, time together as a family, or simply sitting back and enjoying the view can be exactly what you needed.

If you're staying with us this week, we hope you give yourself a little time to slow down and enjoy where you are.

For those who know the Keys well, what is your favorite time to be by the water, sunrise, afternoon, or sunset?

10/10/2026

There's no better way to end the week than hearing from someone who spent their getaway with us. 💙

One guest described their stay as an"Excellent weekend getaway," sharing:

"Great experience. Clean and comfortable room. Nice hotel amenities with everything we needed. Pool was very nice. Hotel staff very friendly."

Those words mean a lot to our family and our team.

A comfortable room matters. Having what you need during your stay matters. And most of all, we want the welcome you receive to feel genuine from the moment you arrive.

We're grateful this guest chose to spend their weekend with us here in Key Colony Beach, and even more grateful that they took the time to share their experience.

To everyone who has stayed with us, thank you for letting our family be a small part of your Florida Keys memories.

When you think about a great hotel stay, what's the little detail that makes the biggest difference for you?

Family trips have a way of creating the stories everyone keeps talking about long after the suitcases are unpacked.

For this week's package spotlight, we're keeping the youngest travelers in mind.

Our current Specials & Packages page lists the Kids Beach Bucket package, described by Glunz as a way to “Add More Fun to Your Family’s Florida Keys Adventure.”

We especially like sharing this one after hearing from families, like the guest in Saturday's review, who bring their grandkids along for their time in Key Colony Beach.

The Glunz Specials and Packages page currently lists the Kids Beach Bucket among its available packages.

We are intentionally not adding contents or pricing here because the information returned from the current page does not specify those details.

If you're planning a Florida Keys visit with the younger members of the family, you can check our Specials & Packages page for the current package information.

What was your favorite thing about beach vacations when you were a kid?

10/07/2026

What if Wednesday's entire plan was simply to spend a little more time outside?

Our family-owned hotel sits beachfront in Key Colony Beach, with soft sand and turquoise water right outside. Guests can choose between the beach, two pools, or simply finding their own comfortable spot to slow down.

Bring the book you keep saying you're going to finish. Take a walk along the beach without worrying about how far you go. Put your feet up and catch up with someone you love.

Or don't do much of anything.

Vacations have a funny way of showing us how nice an unscheduled hour can feel. And somewhere in the middle of a busy week, we think that's worth remembering.

So from our little corner of Key Colony Beach, here's permission to make today's plans very, very simple.

When you finally slow down on vacation, where do you settle in first, the beach or the pool?
