Long before his songs became anthems, Key West was simply home. 🌴

In this handwritten letter dated October 22, 1989, Jimmy Buffett looks back on his early days in Key West spending summer afternoons at the library, browsing the stacks, reading about the old days on the island and finding inspiration for songs he would eventually write.

Today, as Key West comes together for Just a Few Friends to celebrate Jimmy Buffett’s life and legacy, we’re sharing a small piece of the history that connects him so deeply to this island.
