This summer, Flagstaff Lake Hut became the backcountry basecamp for University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Through the McNulty Leadership Ventures Program, the group experienced a week of hiking, climbing, and boating across the Bigelow Range, no classroom required.

Connecting people to nature is our mission, and hosting this group's first taste of the Maine backcountry was a privilege.

College orientation came to Poplar Stream Hut! We were beyond thrilled that Bowdoin College's McKeen Center for the Common Good picked Maine Huts & Trails for their community-based orientation trip this year. This crew came from all over and they absolutely crushed it on wood stacking duty! Thank you to Bowdoin and the McKeen Center for bringing your volunteers up to our huts. What a beautiful day on the trails! Maine Huts & Trails was thrilled to partner with Rangeley T.R.A.C for a group hike to the waterfalls surrounding Poplar Stream Hut.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect for our trek along Poplar Stream on Larry's Trail, with a return via the Maine Hut Trail. From rushing waterfalls to peaceful forest paths, it was a fantastic reminder of why we love sharing this trail network with our community.

A huge thank you to the Rangeley crew for joining us. We loved having you out here!
