Several months ago, I had a group of hunters at the B&B. One of them blessed and honored me, with this poem. It's a bit of a lengthy read, but, I wanted to share. I felt very honored...
Made my heart feel so good.
Hope you enjoy...
"VICTORIAN LANTERN BED AND BREAKFAST
To Rayma, in the Halls of Victorian Grace
In Kingman's heart, where prairies wide do sweep,
Stands a grand house, where history's whispers keep.
A lantern bright, in Victorian style,
Built in '87, with charm to beguile.
Richard Hodgson first, its walls did raise,
Then Judge Hay, in 1901, met its gaze.
Through years it stood, a testament of time,
In the Hay family's care, like a gentle chime.
But as centuries turned, and times did shift,
At auction's call, its fate would lift.
For David and Rayma, a dream took flight,
In twenty-twelve, under the starry night.
With love, they toiled, their hands did mend,
The Lantern's soul, from start to end.
Tall ceilings echo with laughter light,
Oak floors gleam under the moon's soft sight.
Crown molding whispers of days gone past,
Picture railing holds memories that last.
Oak wainscoting, a testament of yore,
Two fireplaces where stories pour.
Clawfoot tubs, where dreams unwind,
Staircases, where past and present entwined.
Stained glass windows, a spectrum dance,
In each room, a crafted romance.
Five chambers, each a unique embrace,
Adorned with care, an elegant space.
But beyond the decor, the true heart beats,
In the kitchen, where Rayma sweet treats.
Mornings blossom with scents so fine,
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate's line.
A parfaite, pancakes, a culinary song,
Pumpkin French toast, where tastes belong.
Waffles, eggs, and meats so fresh,
Served with love, each dish a mesh.
Her hands, a dance of passionate flair,
Making guests feel welcome, beyond compare.
Each visit, a memory, tenderly sewn,
In the fabric of time, beautifully grown.
Rayma's touch, a magic so pure,
Makes every heart, of its love sure.
In the Victorian Lantern's embrace,
Lies a story of love, and an elegant grace.
Walter Branson's ode, to a dream so bright,
In Kingman's heart, a beacon of light.
To the Rowlands, a journey of heart and hand,
In their Lantern Bed and Breakfast, so grand."
