You know that moment when you finally exhale? Like, really exhale and realize how long you'd been holding it?

That's what a spa day at Running Y feels like. Time in the sauna to let the heat do its work. A massage that gets into the places that have been tight for months. A skin treatment that leaves you actually glowing. No rushing, no agenda. Just you, being taken care of.

It's the kind of afternoon that reminds you rest isn't a reward. It's part of the plan.

This par 3 plays 120 to 221 yards onto one of the more generous greens on the back nine. After the tight fescue, the tucked approaches, and the unforgiving bunkers of the holes behind you, the extra real estate here feels like a gift.

Do not let it talk you into being reckless.

When the pin is tucked back right, as it often is, the green is only as generous as where you are aiming.

Chasing that back right flag invites trouble. The front half of the green is your friend on this hole. Land it there, take your two putts, and walk to the next tee with a clean card.

If you come up a little short, an up and down from just off the front of the green is among the more manageable scrambles you will face all day. That is the hole telling you something.

These three things are all a great buddies trip needs.

The Arnold Palmer Signature Course takes care of the first one. Oregon's only Palmer design, 18 holes that wind through wetlands and lake-dotted woodlands, and the kind of round that earns its place in the group chat for years.

The Ruddy Duck handles the second. Post-round dinners that nobody rushes through.

The third one you bring yourself. Great company.

(Yes, you can bring your 4-legged family members too!)

The Running Y Buddy Trip is a 3-night stay-and-play package built for groups of 4 to 16. Choose 18 holes or unlimited golf. Stay in a private vacation rental or the lodge with 20% off flex pricing. No spreadsheets, no logistics headaches. Just a plan that works.

Book 60 days out for best tee time priority. Link in bio to lock your dates.

A great golf trip deserves a great souvenir.

Not the kind that collects dust. The kind you actually use. The kind that takes you straight back to the first tee, the quiet of the back nine, the dinner after a round well played.

Running Y merch lives in that space. Understated. Worth having. A small piece of a place worth coming back to.

Swing by the golf shop before or after your round.

Hole 14 puts the decision entirely in your hands.

This par 4 plays 267 to 407 yards and bends right with trees sitting at the corner, daring you to carry them.

Cut the dogleg and you are rewarded with a short, straightforward approach and a genuine birdie opportunity. Lay up and the hole opens up too, just from a little further back. Neither choice is wrong. One of them might be wrong for you, on this day, with this swing, under this kind of pressure.

That is the question hole 14 is really asking. Not whether the carry is possible. It is. Not whether the layup is sensible. It is. The question is whether you trust yourself enough, right now, to commit fully to the aggressive line and execute it cleanly.

A half-committed carry is the worst outcome on this hole. The trees are patient and they have seen plenty of them. Make the decision before you step onto the tee. Commit to it completely. Because once you get around that corner, the hole rewards you with one of the more inviting approaches on the back nine.

A simple shot onto a receptive green with scoring firmly within reach. The opportunity is there. The only thing standing between you and it is the choice you make on the tee.

We are in the running for a Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Award, one of the most meaningful recognitions in travel, because it comes entirely from the people who have actually been there.

Real guests who felt something and took a moment to say so. If that is you, please vote. It takes sixty seconds and it stands for every trail walked, every round played, and every dinner that ended too late and felt just right.

Vote for Running Y. Link below:
