We had an awesome time this weekend at the Loudon Appalachian Trail Festival a few miles down the trail from us!!! Every year seems to be bigger and better, and this year was no exception. Plenty of food and drinks, raffles and prizes, sunshine and smiles 🌞😃

Love is in the air! A pair of peregrine falcons have been spotted on Maryland Heights again this year. Peregrine falcons have successfully raised young for five consecutive years on the bluffs at Maryland Heights.

The park's annual closure to promote a successful nesting and breeding season will go into effect around Valentine's Day. Visitors should expect the closure to remain in place until mid-to-late July. This closure protects off-trail areas of the Maryland Heights cliff faces, but the trail and overlook will remain open. Closures will be clearly marked with fencing and signage. Thank you for respecting the closure and the love birds' privacy.

The season has come to an end here at Cross Trails Hostel. We’re taking a break for a couple months, but plan to be reopened on March 1st 2026.

2025- wow what a year it’s been! This year has held some truly magic moments, none of which would have been made possible without our awesome guests and tireless volunteers. Thank you all for your business, conversations, kindness, time, generosity, patience, and love. The world is what we make it, and this hostel is a living example of how beautiful it can be.
