Today, we recognize World Mental Health Day—an opportunity to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and remind one another that mental health deserves the same care and attention as our physical health.

Life can be busy. Between work, family, school, responsibilities, and everything happening around us, it can be easy to put our own well-being at the bottom of the list. But taking care of your mental health isn't selfish—it's an important part of taking care of yourself.

Sometimes that means giving yourself permission to rest. Sometimes it means setting boundaries, spending time with people you love, doing something that brings you joy, or simply acknowledging that you're having a difficult day. And sometimes, it means reaching out and asking for help. 💚

Today is also a reminder to lead with kindness and compassion. We never truly know what someone else may be carrying behind the scenes, and even a small act of understanding can make a meaningful difference.

🌀 Hurricane Weather Advisory | Storm Preparedness Update 🌀

As the hurricane continues to move through the Gulf, we want to remind our guests and local community to stay informed and prepared.

Although Columbia and Suwannee Counties are not currently in the direct forecast path of the hurricane, our area may still experience impacts from the storm, including heavy rainfall, strong winds, and the potential for localized flooding.

⚠️ A State of Emergency has been declared for several Florida counties, including Columbia and Suwannee Counties, as a precautionary measure ahead of the storm's potential impacts.

At Comfort Suites Lake City, we are closely monitoring the storm and taking precautionary measures to prioritize the safety and comfort of our guests and staff. Our team is preparing to continue welcoming and assisting guests throughout the storm, weather conditions permitting.

⚠️ Important Guest Information: Please be advised that our property does not have a backup generator. In the event of a power outage, hotel amenities and services may be temporarily interrupted until electricity is restored. We encourage guests to plan accordingly and contact our front desk with any questions regarding their upcoming stay.

Born on October 2, 1869, Gandhi became a leader of India’s independence movement and was known for his commitment to nonviolent resistance. His approach would go on to influence movements for civil rights and social change around the world.

In recognition of his commitment to nonviolence, the United Nations also observes October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence—a day dedicated to promoting peace, tolerance, understanding, and nonviolence. 🕊️

Today offers an opportunity to reflect on the lasting importance of compassion, peaceful dialogue, understanding, and treating one another with dignity and respect.
