Just a heads up to keep an eye on your inbox over the next week or so because I will be sending out your 2026 tentative reservation and deposit information emails. Please keep in mind they are sent alphabetically so your friends &/or family may receve theirs a day or so before you do.

What many guests don’t realize is that Twin Birches once stood at the heart of a millionaire’s estate. In 1899, George Foster Peabody purchased this property and established his summer residence here.

Peabody shaped so much of what we love about Lake George: Prospect Mountain, Shepard Park, Hearthstone, Diamond Island, Tongue Mountain, and more. Yet over time, his story has quietly faded from memory.

That’s why Jaime’s husband wrote Discovering George Foster Peabody, a new book that brings Peabody’s remarkable legacy back to life. It’s available now on Amazon, and starting next season you’ll find copies right in our office, so you can take a little piece of Lake George history home with you.

We’re proud to share this hidden chapter of the lake with the families who make this place so special!

Just a friendly reminder that 2024 reservation deposits are due tomorrow. If you have sent your deposit but haven’t received an email confirmation please contact to let me know asap. Or if your deposit is on its way but won’t make it by tomorrow let me know. If I haven’t heard from you by tomorrow 2/1/24 your reservation will be cancelled on 2/2/24. Thank you!!

We are so excited that Bums Burgers is back!!! He will be at the hotel next week for lunch Wednesday 8/9 & Thursday 8/10 then back again the following week!

Memorial Day weekend is here and the forecast in Lake George looks absolutely perfect!!

We are officially open for the summer. We also have availability for this weekend if you were thinking about a last minute stay.

Dear Guests and Families,

Our dear friend Tom Jones tragically passed away on August 18th from a motorcycle accident. Tom owned and operated Devocean Watersports out of Twin Birches Cottages since 2017. Over the past five years, Tom became a familiar and integral part of Twin Birches. He truly loved life and shared his positive spirit with everyone he came across. He will surely be missed and we are heartbroken.

Due to the tragedy, Devocean Watersports is permanently closed and will not be reopening.
