On October 17th in Lake Lure, North Carolina…the Fall Arts & Crafts Festival brings a weekend of handmade goods, mountain scenery, fall color, and good food to one of western North Carolina’s prettiest towns. You can wander through outdoor booths filled with pottery, jewelry, photography, woodwork, stained glass, leather goods, textiles, artwork, and other handmade pieces from regional artists and crafters. Visitors can also meet some of the makers, watch select craft demonstrations, and shop for one-of-a-kind gifts with the Blue Ridge Mountains and changing fall leaves surrounding the festival area. Food vendors serve snacks, sweets, and full meals, and a creek-side picnic area gives you a place to sit and enjoy the cool mountain air. This is a two-day festival held in Lake Lure on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. The festival is held at 119 Arcade Street beside the historic Lake Lure Inn, and proceeds support Hickory Nut Gorge Outreach and its local food pantry work...so you can come out and support local vendors and a good cause while enjoying one of Lake Lure's best fall events!

The Town of Lake Lure announced this week the full Buffalo Creek Trail loop is now open. You can also take W**d Patch Mountain Trail as far as the epic viewpoint at Grey Rock and you can explore the new Upper Boulders Trail. It's great having more of these trails back, after Helene!
