What a beauty! Known in olden times as swamp lantern, more commonly as skunk cabbage, its cheery yellow lantern-like blooms and shiny green giant leaves are lighting up our lakeshore for spring break!

Discover a hidden sandstone arch and a towering waterfall in the coastal cliffs of Blacklock Point—just a scenic 2.5-mile walk from the park. The wild beauty of this secluded shoreline is magnificent in every season.

‼️ HIGH SURF ADVISORY ‼️
The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for Wednesday and Thursday (Jan 7-8, 2026) for the north coast and along Coos, Curry & Douglas Counties. Advisory from 4am Wednesday to 4pm Thursday.

Large breaking waves of 22 to 26 feet are expected. These large waves will create hazardous conditions in low lying areas and along beaches.

STAY OFF jetties and logs on the beaches. NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON THE OCEAN.

These are the days you wanna come out and get some snaps of the big splashes! 🌊 especially Shore Acres!

12/11/2025

Please join us for an evening presentation on “King Tides, High Surf, and Sneaker Waves” on December 30th 2025 at the Curry Public Library.
