Created to give families an affordable, local way to celebrate Halloween — and give back to our community. 💛 🎃 About Halloween Happenings 🎃

Halloween Happenings began with a small group of volunteers who simply love Halloween and wanted to bring that fun and community spirit to the LaPorte County Fairgrounds. 👻🍁

Inspired by the popular Halloween weekends at Indiana State Parks (which can be tough to get into for campsite reservations!), our goal was to create a local version — a place where families could celebrate fall together without traveling far or spending a lot. Each year, the event continues to give back — offering affordable, family-friendly fun and supporting local organizations and youth groups who help make the magic happen. It’s all made possible by dedicated volunteers, local sponsors, and our amazing community who come together to make Halloween Happening a tradition to look forward to year after year. 🎃💛

Thank you to everyone who came trick-or-treating, shopped the craft show, enjoyed the band, and supported our vendors! To the community members who handed out candy, our campers, and everyone who helped make Halloween Happenings so much fun—THANK YOU!

And a special shoutout to Mother Nature for giving us the perfect weekend! ☀️🍂

What a Spooktacular day! 🎃 After some time at the Trick or Treat event at our Historical Society Museum, I then spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at Pioneer Land’s Trunk or Treat.

This might be the biggest crowd I’ve seen there. Candy stations, a maze, wagon rides, and live music to close it out, the kids (and adults) were loving it. 🎵👻

🎃👻 KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! 👻🎃

Halloween Happenings Trick-or-Treat is almost here, and we can't wait to see all the little ghosts, goblins, princesses, and superheroes at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds THIS SATURDAY! 🍬

Here's everything you need to know before heading our way!

📅 Saturday, October 24, 2026

⏰ Trick-or-Treat: 4:00–6:00 PM

📍 LaPorte County Fairgrounds

🎟️ FREE ADMISSION! Everyone is welcome!

🍬 TRICK-OR-TREATING: Start your candy adventure in Pioneerland, where we have OVER 15 stops waiting for you! But don't stop there! Head over to the campground for even MORE trick-or-treating! Participating campers will have a 🎃 Halloween sign displayed at their campsite, so you'll know where to stop for treats!

🚗 PARKING: Parking is available on the pavement near the Grandstands and in the main parking lot. Follow the signs to the designated walk-in entrance!

🧙‍♀️ COSTUME CONTEST: Think you've got an awesome costume? Join us at 5:00 PM! Categories include Children, Teens, Adults, and Groups! Prizes for the top 3 in each category!

🛍️ VENDORS & SHOPPING: Stop by the Draft Horse Barn and check out our vendors and craft show!

🌮 COME HUNGRY & BRING CASH! Food trucks will be serving up delicious food from noon until 9 PM! We recommend bringing cash for the food trucks so you're ready to grab some goodies!

🐴 HORSE-DRAWN WAGON RIDES: Enjoy a ride thanks to the Hagenow Family!

🎶 STAY FOR THE MUSIC! The fun doesn't end when the candy runs out! Stick around for live music from THE REST after trick-or-treating!

🎃 KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN! You never know what surprises you might find along the way… including a special GOLDEN PUMPKIN! 👀

🧡 A FEW FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

This is a walking event, so wear comfortable shoes!

Please use designated parking areas and watch for pedestrians.

Children should be accompanied by an adult.

Bring a flashlight if you plan to stay after dark!

Bring cash for food and shopping!

You do NOT have to be camping to participate!

We've been working hard to make this a fun-filled evening for the whole family, and we can't wait to share it with you!

Looks like Mother Nature got the invitation to Halloween Happenings… and she's bringing some BOO-tiful weather! 🧡

🎃 **FRIDAY:** A little spooky morning fog followed by sunshine! High of 66°. Perfect weather to roll in, set up camp, and get the Halloween fun started!

👻 **SATURDAY:** No tricks, just treats! ☀️ Sunny skies and a high of 70°! PERFECT weather for trick-or-treating, exploring Pioneerland, grabbing food truck goodies, and enjoying live music!

🍁 **SUNDAY:** Partly sunny with a high of 69°. A beautiful way to wrap up a weekend full of spooky memories!

🍬 **Saturday's Trick-or-Treat Forecast (4–6 PM):** Around 68–70°, dry skies, and a 100% chance of CANDY! 🍭

🧙‍♀️ **Our official prediction:** Scattered witches, roaming ghosts, occasional skeletons, and a VERY high chance of FUN!
