Halloween Happenings began with a small group of volunteers who simply love Halloween and wanted to bring that fun and community spirit to the LaPorte County Fairg

rounds. 👻🍁

Inspired by the popular Halloween weekends at Indiana State Parks (which can be tough to get into for campsite reservations!), our goal was to create a local version — a place where families could celebrate fall together without traveling far or spending a lot. Each year, the event continues to give back — offering affordable, family-friendly fun and supporting local organizations and youth groups who help make the magic happen. It’s all made possible by dedicated volunteers, local sponsors, and our amazing community who come together to make Halloween Happening a tradition to look forward to year after year. 🎃💛

Halloween Happenings started with a small group of volunteers who simply love Halloween and wanted to bring the fun, excitement, and community spirit of the season right here to the LaPorte County Fairgrounds!

Inspired by the popular Halloween camping weekends at Indiana State Parks — where campsites can be hard to snag — we wanted to create our own Halloween camping weekend close to home. A place where families can enjoy a fall getaway, make memories, and have some Halloween fun without traveling far or spending a fortune.

What started small has continued to grow bigger and better every year! 🎃 From trick-or-treating and costumes to activities, contests, and plenty of Halloween fun, the weekend is all about bringing people together.

And the best part? You can participate as much or as little as you want! 🏕️

Want to decorate your campsite, join the activities, dress up, trick-or-treat, and do it all? We love it!

Would you rather just bring the camper, relax around the fire, and enjoy a fall weekend away? That’s perfectly fine too! 🔥🍂

Halloween Happenings is meant to be an affordable, family-friendly weekend where everyone can enjoy it their own way.
