Fred Harvey’s hotels gave train travelers a decent bed and a hot meal along the Santa Fe line. In Las Vegas, New Mexico, he ran the Castaneda, a Mission Revival hotel by the tracks that the railway opened in 1899. Harvey Girls served the dining room and slept in a dorm across the street. The hotel shut down as a Harvey House in 1948, spent years as apartments and a bar, and welcomed guests back in 2019. Have you ever stayed somewhere with this much history? Tell me below.
