The music world is mourning the loss of one of their own. Wayne Osmond who rose to fame as a member of his family singing act, The Osmond Brothers, has died, this according to KSL-TV News.

He along with brothers; Alan, Jay, & Merrill first stepped onto the world’s stage as a barbershop quartet known as The Osmond Brothers. Younger siblings soon joined & they were simply called The Osmonds. Wayne’s musical talents weren’t limited to guitar and singing the performer also played the flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, banjo, piano, drums, and bagpipes.

In 1970, they topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with “One Bad Apple”. The Osmonds scored two additional Top 5 hits. “Yo-Yo” went to #3 in 1971, while “Down By The Lazy River” landed at #4, in 1972.

From TV to the music charts, audiences around the globe fell in love with this family.

He traded in his microphone for a pair of wings. Wayne was an avid aviation aficionado and loved to fly airplanes.

Wayne was 73 years old. His memory will live on through his music.
