We wanted to reach out early in the year to let you know of some changes to our reservation platform. We use ReservationsOnline as our booking platform. This is a local company out of Logan Ohio. They have never charged the customer a "fee" for booking however, in March of this year that will change. This fee is very common in the industry as you may have seen with other sites such as VRBO. The lodging owners in Hocking Hills have rallied to keep this fee low for our repeat customers. We feel repeat customers should be rewarded for not only booking with us time after time, but for also coming back to the Hocking Hills region.
With that being said, in March the fee will be 6% of the total cost or a cap of $350. This fee is not going into our pockets, however, will be paid to ReservationsOnline. Any booking you make in a cabin or lodge in Hocking Hills, not just ours, you will encounter this fee. As a local company, they have pledged to put this money back into the region to increase travelers experiences in Hocking Hills.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT...if you call us instead of booking on-line, we can manually enter the reservation and the fee will be only 2%. We welcome this for our repeat customers. Or, if you know you are going to book a stay this year, do it before the end of February to avoid any fees.
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT...we now only require half down at the time of booking versus the full amount. The remaining half is due 3 weeks out from your arrival. For large groups we know this is important as you are trying to collect money from all parties.
