🎶🌿 A Sound from 1903 🌿🎶
One of the most beloved songs of the early 1900s was “In the Good Old Summertime” (1903 era), a melody that captured the warmth, simplicity, and joy of slower days—long before playlists, streaming, or even widespread home radios.
When the Manor Inn on Route 66 was built in 1903, music was experienced in a very different way. There were not radios in every home yet—instead, songs lived through piano rooms, live performances, phonographs, and shared community gatherings. Music was something you experienced together, not something you simply played in the background.
That’s part of what makes this era so special. The Manor was born in a time just before the radio revolution would forever change how the world heard music. Within a couple of decades, radio would bring songs like “In the Good Old Summertime” into homes across the country, connecting people in ways never before imagined.
Today, when you step into the Manor, you’re stepping into that transition between two worlds—the intimate, handmade music of 1903 and the coming age of broadcast sound that would define American life.
