Discover Our History
Elijah T. Browning and Willis Duncan came to Lee’s Summit in 1888. They opened a small stock of merchandise in a one-room store known as Browning and Duncan’s; then only as Brownings after Duncan sold his share. They sold dry goods, notions, boots, and clothes to townspeople and farm families from miles around.

Elijah T. Browning built his family home in 1889, which is now the Historic Browning Bed and Breakfast.

Big changes at The Historic Browning Bed And Breakfast!
Tinker and Faith have moved and the Browning is now pet-free. They are very happy returning to their old roaming grounds with Cynthia and Kevin💕
The downstairs Queen room with claw foot tub is available again!
There is now whole house rental available!
The Sunroom is reopened for events and
WEDDING GET-READY’s!

We always have something to welcome our guests arrival, but tonight is special with a full house of friends who’ve known each other since kindergarten! The offerings will help them celebrate with cheese, crackers, fruit, cookies, chocolate, and of course wine!!
