Spring is one of the best times of the year to explore all of the vast outdoor options that our local area offers.These include hiking , scenic driving, flyfishing in our Blue Ribbon trout streams, vineyard & craft beer hopping, strolling one of the Shenandoah Valley's most interesting small towns and much more. Nothin’ Fancy is excited to be part of the 24th Annual Bath Bluegrass Jamboree. This show is a fundraiser for Allegheny Mountain Radio that has supported Nothin’ Fancy, bluegrass and old time mountain music for many years. The show will be held at the Bath County High School in Hot Springs, Virginia which happens to be one of the most beautiful areas in the State of Virginia. Come on out and share a night of wonderful music while helping to support this great radio station. See ya there!

Tickets go on sale today for the legendary 611 steam train scenic Fall trips from Goshen Va to Staunton Va. These are very a popular way to enjoy the magnificent Fall scenery along the way with your spouse or family. Enjoy a great B&B stay with us along with our Blue Ribbon breakfasts and comfortable bedding as you set off on this adventure. The ride to the train in Goshen from us has one of Virginia's most enchanting natural landmarks, Goshen Pass, to enjoy. The train trips start on Sept 26-28 weekend run weekends thru the Oct 24 one. Natural Bridge State Park has some interesting events in store for Dec 13-15 and Dec 20-23 including Luminary nights. The Bridge itself will be illuminated with festive colors making for magical evening. Normal Bridge admission charges are in effect. Horse carriage rides at $25 per oerson are available 13, 15 and 22nd. Please call 540-291-1326 on these rides.

While some of foliage colors have peaked in the higher elevations there are still a lot of colors out there to enjoy into the middle of November normally. There are many miles of scenic driving on the Lexington, Va. backroads with most having colored sun enhanced canopies to marvel under.
