There is a version of this house where you get all of it. The Whole House booking takes every room, which means a nine-bedroom historic home in Lincoln with your people in it and nobody else. Families do it at the holidays, friend groups do it for reunions, and wedding parties do it the night before.

Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends go early, and if you are thinking about either one, the advice this year across the whole travel industry is to book before Halloween. Swipe through, then send it to whoever organizes your family.

The best thing about Martha’s is the part nobody photographs. It is about four in the afternoon, everyone else is out, and you have the whole front room to yourself with a chair by the window.

Over half the people Hilton surveyed this year said rest and recharge was their main reason for traveling. Just somewhere quiet that is not their own house. We are quite good at that.

Lincoln is closer than you think. Omaha is under an hour, Des Moines and Kansas City are both around three, and Sioux Falls is about four.

Hilton's research this year found that sixty-one percent of travelers will not drive more than five hours without stopping for a hotel, which puts a lot of the Midwest within an easy weekend of here.

If you have been meaning to get away and the flights look insane this year, this is the trip that still makes sense. Send this to whoever you would drive out with.

Breakfast here is continental, and that is on purpose. This is a 1909 landmark home, and keeping it the way it was built means there are things a modern kitchen does and this house does not.

So we do continental properly instead, laid out in the dining room, with the good china, and no rush about when you come down. It is one of the small trades you make to stay in a house that is actually historic rather than decorated to look it. Rooms at marthasbnb.com.

Weddings got smaller and this house got more useful. Forty-four percent of American couples are now hosting under fifty guests, and micro weddings grew twenty-three percent year over year heading into 2026. A ballroom cannot do fifty people without feeling empty. A first floor built in 1909 can.

This one came in last month and we have read it about forty times. What guests keep telling us is some version of the same thing, which is that they expected a nice old house and got somewhere they did not want to leave.

A whole day in Lincoln without getting in your car twice.

Start at the Haymarket for coffee and the Saturday market while it is still running this month. Walk over to the Capitol, which is free, open to the public, and genuinely one of the strangest and best buildings in America. Spend the afternoon in the Sunken Gardens. Then come back, sit on the porch, and do nothing.

The Martha Suite is the room people book when two couples travel together or when a family needs space without being in separate buildings.

A king bedroom, a second room with a queen, and a Jack and Jill bathroom between them, so you share the house but not the walls.

There is a third version with the sun room and its twin beds when you need one more bed. It books out first on event weekends.

Six rooms, two completely different worlds, and most guests have a strong opinion within about thirty seconds. Marilyn, Norma and Dorothy are our Art Deco rooms, which means clean lines, geometry, and a bit of 1920s confidence.

Alma, Alvera and Elizabeth are Louis XVI, which means curves, softness, and a lot more intricacy. Neither one is the upgrade. They are just different moods. Swipe through and tell us in the comments which room is yours.
