Humans of WAMAVA series // Jackson C. // 3 of 5
"Before summer 2025, I was just kinda oblivious, ya know, I’d heard of God and I knew some people think there’s a God and some people think there’s some different lord. I just knew a lot of different religions that lead to a lot of different things; that they all believe in a holy God that created all of this but everyone’s was different. And then there’s people who don’t believe any of that, and believe in natural selection and science and stuff. I guess I just believed that. I didn’t really know what I believed. I just didn’t know anything. I didn’t know how, in the science perspective, I didn’t know how that worked; in the religion perspective, I just know that God created this earth just by thinking about it, that’s all I knew. And then when I started coming here, it really opened my eyes to how it actually worked and realized that makes sense. That answers my questions. It was just, this camp just told me, basically the one question I had was “What is all of this?” and I got my answer.
(What is all of what?)
Everything, earth, stars, people, how did all of this become? Camp just kinda did that. Like okay yeah. It’s not like they told me what to believe, I just started getting more into it and understanding it a little better. I got more in-depth bible discussions and this makes sense. I got my first Bible last week so I was able to read a little bit."
