Up at our appropiately named Songbird Cabin and the woods were full of singing birds!

Hooded Warbler with a song that sounds like weeta-weeta-weet-tee-o, or some birders say it sounds like Richie Rich, I'm right here.

Scarlet Tanager - still singing like crazy by our cabins
and our creek.

Wood Thursh and the soft ee-ll-lay song

Then this morning I heard tea cher tea cher TEA CHER which only means Ovenbirds! Hard to spot but so easily identifited by song.

and I have to include how Indigo Bunting which we see at our feeders every day.

Well I just posted yesterday but then had a surprise Orchard Oriole show up and of course I had just put away the jelly feeder I had out when I saw the Baltimore Oriole's hanging around so now to get that back out. Then a beautiful Magnolia Warber. And a pair of Yellow Warblers. Plus our local Scarlet Tanager is singing from right after dawn until right before night. I have never heard them sing so much.

Our Four Seasons Cabins property is an oasis for so many different kids of birds that will stay and build a nest here or just pause on their journey north. And the Hocking Hills region is a hot spot.

Some of the neotropical migrants and other birds heard singing this morning include:
Orchard Oriole - darker orange than the Balitmore Oriole.
Magnolia Warbler - beautiful bird and song.
Yellow Warbler - both male and female are yellow but the male has the red streaks.
Scarlet Tanager - one of my favorites and we have never heard them sing all day long.

Past peak spring migration now but we heard and saw one, a Blackpoll Warbler, that is a sure sign of the last wave of migrants.

Blackpoll Warbler - sign of the last wave of migrants
Cedar Waxwing - year round but fun to watch
Eastern Kingbird - fun to watch them "hawk" their food
Prairie Warbler - heard singing all around our meadow
Prothonotary Warbler - always around our pond singing
Summer Tanager - such a beautiful bird
