✈️ Interesting development in international air travel: Delta’s new route to Riyadh is already creating some remarkable opportunities for travelers.

Delta Air Lines is preparing to launch nonstop service between Atlanta (ATL) and Riyadh (RUH) — and some of the early SkyMiles pricing is getting a lot of attention.

According to One Mile at a Time, award tickets have been available for as little as 15,000 SkyMiles one way, with eligible Delta SkyMiles cardholders potentially bringing that down to approximately 12,700 miles.

What makes this particularly interesting isn’t just the low mileage requirement.

It highlights a much bigger shift taking place in global aviation.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia continues investing heavily in tourism and international connectivity.

✈️ U.S. airlines are exploring new opportunities in the Middle East.

Imagine being 30,000 feet in the air… and all three pilots come down with suspected food poisoning. 😳✈️

It sounds like something straight out of Airplane!, but it actually happened on a British Airways flight from Hyderabad to London. According to reports, one pilot became so ill that he required oxygen, while the other two, despite also feeling sick, safely brought the aircraft to Heathrow. British Airways has since launched an investigation into the incident and is reviewing the crew’s hotel accommodations. (People.com⁠)

This is also a reminder of why airlines often have strict procedures about flight crews eating different meals—to reduce the risk of everyone getting sick from the same source.
