Our WillowTree family lost one of our own.
On Friday, October 2, 2026, we lost our friend and fellow WillowTree team member, Mitch. It is incredibly hard to put into words what Mitch meant to WillowTree because he was so much more than an employee. He was our friend, our coworker, and one of those familiar faces who simply became part of this place.
If something needed to be done, chances are Mitch was willing to help. You could find him working security, making a run into town, helping around the resort, cooking for one of our special events, lending a hand at the Snack Shack, or just stopping to talk and share a laugh.
One thing we heard from Mitch time and time again was, βJust tell me where I need to be.β
Those few words said so much about who he was. Whatever was going on and wherever we needed an extra hand, Mitch was ready to show up. He wore a lot of hats at WillowTree, but more than anything, he was someone we could count on.
When you work together day after day, through busy summers, special events, long days, and everything in between, coworkers become family. Mitch was family to us.
There will be moments when we expect to see him walking through the office, around the grounds, or showing up ready to help with whatever we had going on that day. Those everyday moments are what will make his absence so deeply felt.
We know our team isn't alone in grieving his loss. Many of our Park Model residents, returning guests, and friends of WillowTree knew Mitch and have their own conversations, laughs, and memories to hold onto.
Our hearts and prayers are with Mitchβs family, his friends, and everyone who knew and loved him during this incredibly difficult time.
We invite our WillowTree family, Park Model residents, guests, and friends to join us on Tuesday, October 27th, at 6:00 PM at WillowTree as we come together to celebrate Mitch's life.
We hope you'll join us to share stories, remember the good times, and celebrate the man who meant so much to so many of us. Light refreshments will follow.
We encourage everyone to wear shades of blue, Mitch's favorite color, as a special way to honor and remember him. π
Whether you worked alongside Mitch, shared a conversation with him, enjoyed one of his meals, or simply knew his friendly face around the resort, we hope you'll come celebrate the memories he leaves behind.
Rest easy, Mitch. Thank you for the laughs, the helping hands, the meals, the memories, and all the times you simply asked us to tell you where you needed to be.
You will always have a place here at WillowTree, and WillowTree just wonβt be the same without you.
