Captain Rick Hilliard's 25 Open is in the water at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show as part of the display, and the East Cape team is already in town. Doors open Wednesday and we're there through Sunday.

Adam walks a dipped Ice Blue Kevlar Vantage, one of his favorite color schemes, with a 12-inch Simrad NSS Evo4 he calls the most powerful plotter on the market. Staying home in Central Florida.

Dipped means one color, bow to stern: hull, deck, console, cockpit, and non-skid all in Ice Blue. Dark enough to pop, light enough to walk on barefoot. Kevlar throughout.

The NSS Evo4 has buttons and a touchscreen both, so it still works with bait on your fingers, and it's linked to a Simrad Recon on a Power Pux mount that pops off in seconds for a clean deck on fly days. A 90 SHO for extra punch when the boat is loaded with people, ice, and gear, and a black 6-foot .Pole kept short so the poling platform stays the tallest thing on the boat.

A Marquesa Marine Carbon Pro casting platform for extra square footage on windy days, a non-jumpseat console with a blue and black wrapped wheel, and a removable Black Fly bench turnbuckled to the floor that comes out in about a minute. Brushed Go Fast poling platform with a front step instead of a folding backrest, so the deck stays open. Light Grey Simtex in a matte finish, Light Grey , and an aluminum trailer with a swing tongue and full-size spare.

Dipped Ice Blue, one color bow to stern, on a Kevlar Vantage that's staying home in Central Florida.

Ice Blue on the hull, deck, console, cockpit, and non-skid, with a black rub rail, black rod rings, and black spools. Dark enough to pop, light enough to walk on barefoot. The laminate schedule is Kevlar throughout.

A 90 SHO with a three-blade stainless prop and Baystar steering, a 12-inch NSS Evo4 flush in the console linked to a Simrad Recon on a starboard-bow Power Pux mount, and a black 6-foot .Pole on the port side.

Up front, a flush pull-up cleat and a Marquesa Marine Carbon Pro casting platform on the hatch. A non-jumpseat console with a ghost grab bar, three fluted rod holders per side, and a blue and black wrapped wheel with a monkey fist. A removable 40-inch Black Fly bench with pipe armrests, turnbuckled to the cockpit floor so it comes out in about a minute.

Brushed Go Fast poling platform with a front step, Light Grey Simtex with black stitching, Light Grey , and an aluminum trailer with a swing tongue and full-size spare.

Kevin walks a Fighting Lady Yellow 21 EVO that floats shallower than its trolling motor, with a white Suzuki 200 the guides are seeing low 50s out of. Headed to Tampa Bay.

Fighting Lady Yellow hull, Matterhorn White deck, console, cockpit, and lean post, black accents throughout, and white smooth vinyl with natural stitching.

Up front, a Recon on a Power Pux mount. Kevin's point: the hull floats shallower than the Recon does, and with the quiet-entry chine below the waterline it isn't slapping and spooking fish on the way in. A 16-inch Simrad NSS Evo3S at the helm, a white 6-foot .Pole off the transom, and a 200 in white on a Sea Star jackplate.

Three insulated livewells: a 60-gallon well under the West Coast lean post seat and twin aft wells in light blue. Fill all three and the boat is still fully self-bailing. No floor hatches, just a solid foam-filled floor either side of the 90-gallon tank. V-Marine push pole clips, rod holders laid out for trolling, and an aluminum trailer with a torsion axle, blacked-out mag wheels, and a spare hub.

Loaded with people and gear, the guides running this hull with a 200 are reporting low 50s, on the biggest 21 in its class. And Kevin let one thing slip: an upper-station 21 EVO is coming.

Fighting Lady Yellow on the hull, Matterhorn White on the deck, console, cockpit, and lean post, with a black rub rail and white smooth vinyl with natural stitching.

A 200 in white on a Sea Star 12-inch jackplate with SeaStar hydraulic steering, a 16-inch NSS Evo3S at the helm with a 3-in-1 transducer, and a Simrad Recon on a white Power Pux port mount networked to the Simrad. Twin white 6-foot .Pole on jackplate mounts off the transom.

Three insulated livewells, one in the West Coast lean post and twin aft wells finished in light blue. No backrest on the lean post to keep the cockpit open, a standard console with a footrest, toggle switches, a clear windshield, and a silver grab handle each side. A white Emperor stool on the bow.

Rod holders set up for trolling: the aft pair straight back, a pair out at 30 degrees, two forward at eleven and one o'clock, and one per side tight to the motor. Riding on an aluminum trailer with a stainless axle.

Kevin walks a blacked-out carbon-Kevlar VHP headed to Miami, with a brushless trolling motor on the bow and a casting platform that moves.

A tropical system rained out the whole day, so this one was shot inside in the finish bay. Kevin's take: the best day to be in one of these on the water, the worst day to film one. It goes to a Miami family that watched East Cape for a long time before pulling the trigger.

Haze Grey over Matterhorn White, a carbon-Kevlar layup, and satin black powder coat on every piece of metal. The bow runs a blackout package with a pull-up cleat, black rod rings, and a piano hinge on the hatch. A removable Marquesa Marine casting platform with blacked-out V-Marine hardware sits forward of the hatch or on it, and when it comes off, a 35 takes its place on the tie-down.

A brushless trolling motor on a port-nose Power Pux mount, quieter than poling in Kevin's words, with a 16-inch Simrad flush in a custom console. A 115 Pro XS Command Thrust on a Bob's jackplate, a .Pole Blade, and a V-Marine push pole holder. Center console with no jump seat so the cockpit stays open for fly line, grey in a tarpon-scale pattern, two fluted rod holders per side, and Sun Tan pleated vinyl against the grey.

Rated for four, the same waterline as a 21 or 22-foot bay boat, and it still fits in a 20-foot garage. Black Fly Lodge has run a fleet of a dozen of these, 250 days a year, since 2010.

A tropical system parked over Central Florida and rained all day, so this one was shot inside in the detail bay instead of out on the water. Same boat, drier light.

Haze Grey hull, Matterhorn White deck, console, cockpit, and non-skid, with a black rub rail and black navs, fuel vent, and king pins to match the powder coat.

A 115 Pro XS Command Thrust with an Enertia prop on a Bob's 4-inch jackplate with the switch on the throttle, and SeaStar hydraulic steering. A 16-inch flush in a custom console with a transom transducer, a Simrad trolling motor on a port-nose Power Pux mount with 36-volt power in the console, and a .Pole Blade on the port side.

Go Fast poling platform with a rod holder angled out each side, a folding backrest with a step and two cup holders tucked inside, and a black-body spreader light underneath. Two fluted rod holders per side on the console. Grey on the cockpit floor and poling platform, blue under-gunnel lighting, a cooler tie-down forward of the hatch for a 35, and a V-Marine bucket holder port side.

Sun Tan pleated vinyl with black stitching, with a console backrest cushion and a cushion for the Yeti. Riding on an aluminum trailer.
