There is still time to join us this Friday for the LCJVS Patriot Day Memorial Ceremony.

This year’s ceremony will hold special significance as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11.

We will welcome back an LCJVS alumnus who contributed to the construction of the memorial and the placement of the World Trade Center beam on our campus:

Randal Dunkel ’13, Masonry Trades — McMahon Masonry

Randal will share a reflection on helping bring this important memorial to life as an LCJVS student and what it means to return more than a decade later.

Parents/guardians, students, veterans, first responders and community members are invited to join us as we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor those who served and reflect on the unity and resilience of our nation.

Pearl Avenue will be closed to traffic this Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. until approximately 6 p.m. while El Centro de Servicios Sociales hosts its annual block party.

The closure covers Pearl Avenue between E. 28th Street and E. 31st Street.

No parking will be posted on Pearl Avenue and a section of E. 28th Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day. Vehicles parked in violation of the posted signs will be ticketed and towed.

Closure times are subject to change based on conditions. Drivers near the event should expect delays, plan an alternate route, and use extra caution — foot traffic will be heavier than usual.
