Since 1905, The Seelbach Hotel has been home to hidden tunnels, secret passageways, and whispers of history.

From Al Capone to The Great Gatsby, its stories are as timeless as its charm. Explore the mystery that still echoes through its walls. A stay at The Seelbach Hilton Hotel will never be described as ordinary. Appearing on the National Register of Historical Places, this 4-diamond luxury hotel is considered the premiere hotel in the state of Kentucky. Built in 1905, it is considered a landmark to "the golden era" with its grand ambiance inspiring author F. Scott Fitzgerald to use The Seelbach as a backdrop for Tom and Daisy Buchanan's wedding in The Great Gatsby. And now a recent $12 million renovation has taken this grand old hotel and combined it with all of the contemporary necessities. So now, you can not only experience genteel, Southern hospitality in historic grandeur. You can do so in updated guestrooms with new furniture, lighting and carpet while watching 37" hi-def televisions and taking advantage of high-speed Internet access. Add to that a location in the heart of downtown Louisville's business and entertainment district, and only minutes from Churchill Downs — the home of The Kentucky Derby where over 100,000 thoroughbred enthusiasts and international celebrities gather on the first Saturday in May each year — and there's simply no reason to consider staying anywhere else.

💙 Have you heard the legend of the Lady in Blue?

In 1936, a young woman named Patricia Wilson, also known as Pearl Mae Elliott, mysteriously died here at The Seelbach. Decades later, in 1987, two hotel employees reported seeing a mysterious woman with long dark hair and a flowing blue dress walk through closed elevator doors. 👻

Some believe Patricia never truly checked out!

✨ History, mystery, and MAYBE a little something unexplained.
