Greetings from Camp Manitoumi

We rejoice in the great weekend we had at Men’s Retreat last weekend. We had an incredible group of men who were eager to hear God’s Word and enjoyed the retreat activities. We were thankful to have Jon Beight, director of the Crossroads Fellowship (Indiana Regular Baptists), as our speaker who encouraged the men to not just attend church but to belong to the church.

We still have several opportunities to be a part of Camp ministries this fall:

-Labor Day Family Weekend is September 4-7. Our dean for the weekend is Pastor Dan Gonnerman, and the speaker is Pastor Albert Bennett (Bible Baptist, Rantoul). All the cabins with restrooms are filled! If you would still like to join us, we have RV spots still available and the cabins closest to the bath houses (without restrooms in the cabin) available.

-Senior Saints Day is Tuesday, September 15. If you are over 50 years young, consider coming out and enjoying a day at Camp! The day will start at 10 am and we will finish with dinner at 4:30 pm. Call or email the camp office if you plan to attend. Cost is free (love offering with be taken). Speaker is Pastor Mike Carlson (Germantown Hills Baptist Church).

-Ladies Retreat is September 18-19. Don’t miss this great opportunity to spend time in fellowship with ladies from your church and across the state. Kim Lloyd and Charlotte Silver will be speaking on how God works through our story. Register today at manitoumi.com (cost increases by $10 on 9/14).

-Teen Fall Retreat on October 18-19. This retreat is for teens 7th -12th grade and will have an apologetics focus. We are excited to have Carl Kirby (Reasons for Hope) with us as we seek to help teens have answers from God’s Word. Get your Youth Group together and don’t miss this weekend!

As always, please continue to pray that Camp Manitoumi can be a resource for local churches to strengthen discipleship and reach the lost with the Gospel. If you do not already, would you consider giving financially on a monthly basis so that we continue to serve our churches in the Illinois/Missouri Association of Regular Baptist Churches and beyond.

What a weekend at Men's Retreat!! We had a great group of men and had fun shooting guns, playing 9 Square, swimming, playing softball, riding the Zipline, and worshipping God!! Thank you to our speaker, Jon Beight, who challenged the men to not just attend church but belong to the church.

Greeting from Camp Manitoumi!

Fall Retreats are coming fast with Men's Retreat next weekend (August 21-22). Be sure to register today so we know how many to plan for. Cost increases by $10 the Monday before each of our retreats.

Both Men's and Ladies' Retreats (Sept. 18-19) are great opportunities for your church groups to come and have an extended time of fellowship together as well as to be encouraged by God's Word. You also have the chance to interact with some of the other churches in our Illinois-Missouri Association of Regular Baptist Churches. This is an opportunity to see what God is doing across our fellowship and to better learn how to pray for our sister churches.

We also have just a few cabins left for our Labor Day Family Weekend (September 4-7). Come enjoy camp as a family!

Senior Saints Day is Tuesday, September 15. The young people have had their chance to come to camp, now it's time for those 50 years young or more to come see what Camp Manitoumi is all about. We will have some time in God's Word (Pastor Mike Carlson is the speaker) and have time to participate in camp activities (including the zipline!). There is no cost for this event, but we will collect a love offering. To register for this event, contact the Camp Office to let us know you plan to attend.

And mark October 18-19 on your calendars for our Fall Teen Retreat (for 7th-12th graders). Carl Kirby (Reasons for Hope) is our speaker as we have an apologetic focus to our teaching time and enjoy fall activities around camp. Appropriate adult sponsors are required to attend with your teens.

Manitoumi Minute - August 6, 2026

Greetings from Camp Manitoumi,

We continue to rejoice is what God accomplished this summer. As we look back, there were many obstacles and points of time where we didn't know what we would do, and yet God provided in only the way he can. We were reminded that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil (Eph 6:12). And that is a fight we cannot win in our own strength, but God is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think (Eph 3:20). To God be the glory.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to join us this fall for one of our many retreats. Men's Retreat is just around the corner on August 21-22. We are excited to have Jon Beight as our speaker. Jon is the Executive Director of the Crossroads Fellowship (the Indiana Regular Baptist association) and the former director of Twin Lakes Camp in Hillsboro, IN. Jon will be sharing from Acts 2:41-47 and will explore seven biblical values that characterized the first church and continue to characterize healthy churches today. We will also discover how each value grows out of a deeper relationship with Jesus himself. Rather than presenting another list of things Christians should do, the weekend will challenge men to see Christ more clearly and understand why His church is worth giving their live to.

Manitoumi Minute - July 29, 2026

Greeting from Camp Manitoumi,

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise him all creatures here below,
Praise him above ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

We are praising God for as we wrap up an incredible Summer Camp season. We are rejoicing that another 12 campers made a profession of salvation during Junior Camp 2! That gives us a total of 35 campers who made a profession or gained assurance throughout this summer!

We have a rental group here this week to wrap up our season, the Royal Family Camp out of the Peoria area. All the campers this week are in foster care or adopted out of foster care. It has been fun to give the campers the ultimate camp experience.

I would encourage you and your churches to consider joining us for one of our Fall Retreats. Info and dates can be found in the attached Minute or by going to manitoumi.com. We have a retreat pretty much for everyone. Come see what God is doing at Camp and be encouraged by God's Word and the fellowship of other believers.

Thank you for everyone who has prayed and continue to pray for the ministry of Camp Manitoumi. God has sustained us and God has done a mighty work that only he can do.
