From Horse Stable to Luxury Suites: Celebrating a 3 1/2-Month Miracle!
Exactly 5 years ago tomorrow, on June 5th, 2021, we officially crossed the finish line on one of the most intense, rewarding, and historical transformations the Cartier Mansion grounds have ever seen: The Carriage House Project.
Looking back, the timeline still feels a bit surreal. We kicked things off on Valentine’s Day weekend of 2021. With a hard deadline of Memorial Day weekend looming, crews were working around the clock. Doing all of this at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic meant navigating strict protocols, but we did it the safe way, kept everyone healthy, and made the impossible happen right on schedule!
This beautiful building has lived so many fascinating lives over the last century:
• 1905: It began as a state-of-the-art horse stable and storage for the Cartier family's vintage vehicles.
• The Mid-Century: It transformed into the very first dance studio in Mason County!
• Recent History: It became a beloved hub for hosting gorgeous weddings and unforgettable events.
• Today: It stands beautifully reimagined as our luxury additional guest suites.
A project this massive during such a challenging time doesn’t happen without an absolute dream team. We owe a massive, heartfelt thank you to:
• Kevin Motyka, our brilliant architect, for perfectly capturing and preserving the history while giving the space a new future.
• Crossbeam Construction and Scholtens Plumbing for working tirelessly, day and night, to bring the vision to life safely and beautifully.
The Carriage House has always been a place where memories are made, and we are so proud to keep that tradition alive for our guests every single day.
