During the winter of 1964, a group of Master Masons in Lynchburg was approached by Most Worshipful William C. Vaughan about the possibility of forming a third Masonic Lodge in Lynchburg. Several reasons were presented to support the formation of a new Lodge. First of all, two new industries, General Electric and Babcock and Wilcox, had recently located in the Hill city. Lodges, Marshall Lodge No. 39, and Hill City Lodge No. 183 had experienced tremendous growth over the last several years. It was believed that a new Lodge would create new interest in Masonry in Lynchburg, and the entire 25th Masonic District. In 1965, a meeting was held at Hill City Lodge No. 183 to select the officers, a meeting night, a site, and a name for the new Lodge. Eubank was selected, and the second Thursday of each month as their meeting night. Hill City Lodge most graciously allowed the new Lodge the use of their building located on Rivermont Avenue. We now meet at the Lynchburg Masonic Temple off of Lemon Drive.
