General's Quarters

General's Quarters General's Quarters is a duplex building with 2 homes, vacation rentals- GQ 207 and 209 in the heart of Madison, Indiana.

Book your next stay and enjoy 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths with river views. Named after Brigadier General Thomas Turpin Crittenden, who fought for the Union Army during the Civil War. He and his wife, Elizabeth Baldwin (a Madison local) owned the house from 1860 to 1879. We bought the property in 2017 and gutted it to bring it back to two townhouses, as it was originally built. The new design includes 2,

200 square feet with 3 en-suite bedrooms (2-King and 1-Queen) and 3.5 bathrooms. Remodeled with modern conveniences, the home's character remains the same such as exposed brick walls, original flooring, and river views. General's Quarters is located a block away from the Ohio River and steps from Bicentennial Park and is located in the heart of all the festivals Madison has to offer throughout the year.

There are destinations riders pass through.

And then there are destinations riders remember.

Madison, Indiana has officially been recognized through RoadRUNNER Motorcycle, Touring, and Travel’s “Madison, Indiana Shamrock Tour®” feature — joining a nationally recognized legacy of scenic touring destinations highlighted by the publication over the last 25 years.

Following a hosted stay last fall at the Historic Eagle Cotton Mill, RoadRUNNER curated four scenic riding loops centered around Madison throughout the “Ohio River Borderlands.”

Touring journalist and photographer James T. Parks also highlighted the Serpent of 62 as “the most recommended local road,” calling it “a thrilling ride with tight curves and hilly terrain.” We couldn’t agree more — that sounds a lot like “1,000 Curves in 100 Miles” to us.😉

For us, this recognition confirms what we’ve believed from the beginning:

𝑴𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆.

We’re incredibly grateful to RoadRUNNER, Florian Neuhauser, James T. Parks, Fairfield Inn & Suites Madison Historic Eagle Cotton Mill, our regional partners, and the early developers and supporters who helped shape the vision behind REVerie Roads & the Serpent of 62 — you know who you are.
Looking for Memorial Day Weekend plans? Maybe this is your sign to finally take the ride. Learn more > https://bit.ly/MadisonINShamrockTour
