Mesa Verde RV Resort is a family friendly RV park that includes a new playground, heated pool, two spas, and newly remodeled shower and laundry facilities. We have a number of site options that include tent, big rig accessible, and cabins. We have full hook-up or water/electric sites available. Take your dog on a stroll at our spacious nature area around two ponds while enjoying the views of Mesa

Verde and the La Plata Mountains. Our services include free Wi-Fi, 40+ TV channels by antenna, and a store that carries snacks, souvenirs, and other necessities. In the evening, enjoy our fire pit area that includes a grill, two fire pits, and plenty of seating. Come and see why we are the highest rated RV park in the area!

One of the many dragonflies you may spot walking the trail at Hovenweep is the extremely adaptable variegated meadowhawk. These little critters stand out for a couple of reasons.

One is that they will launch off of grass or low shrubs in short bursts and catch their prey mid-flight before returning with it back to their perch.

The other reason is that they are one of the few meadowhawk species that migrate. Migrations go as far south as Honduras and as far west as parts of Asia using paths along the coast. They appear to use the sun as a compass and stay on a relatively fixed direction, staying about 9-10 feet off the ground.

They have beautiful tail patterns, so keep an eye out for these adventurous travelers when you're at the site.

Saturday, September 19th, is International Observe the Moon Night!

Come celebrate with us at Hovenweep, learn more about our orbiting neighbor, and see it up close (free refreshments while supplies last). Meet at the visitor center just before 9:00pm for:

9:00pm - 9:30pm: Wanda Ketchum (Dine/Navajo) presents "Grandmother Moon"
9:30pm - 10:00pm: Program by Ranger Colin Purdy
10:00pm: Telescope time! We will have a Celestron telescope and astronomy binoculars set up for visitors to look through at their leisure.
