Kennesaw Lodge No. 33 joins Masons throughout Georgia in mourning the passing of Most Worshipful Brother Clyde Everette Griffin, Past Grand Master of Masons in Georgia, who laid down his working tools on October 30, 2026.

MWB Griffin served as Grand Master of Masons in Georgia from October 1995 to October 1996. His years of leadership, dedication, and distinguished service to the Craft leave a lasting legacy in Georgia Freemasonry.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the many Brethren whose lives he touched.

May we honor his memory by continuing the great work to which he devoted so much of his life.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

Soft and safe to thee, my Brother, be thy resting place.

🕯️ FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT — A SPECIAL EVENING WITH THE GEORGIA LODGE OF RESEARCH

On Friday, October 30, the Georgia Lodge of Research invites you to the Marietta Masonic Temple for an evening exploring one of the oldest and most profound symbols of our Craft: Light.
Worshipful Brother Jason B. Rudder from Kentucky will present:

LUX EX TENEBRIS
“Light Out of Darkness”

This special presentation will explore the journey from darkness to Light, the Great Lights found across ancient wisdom traditions, the alchemical idea of transforming the rough into the perfected, and the challenging Masonic concept of “Darkness Visible.”

This won't simply be a discussion of history. It will be an exploration of symbolism, philosophy, and the deeper questions behind what it means for a Mason to seek Light.

🔒 Please note: Because of the nature of the presentation, this program is intended for Master Masons.

📅 Friday, October 30, 2026
🕖 7:00 PM
📍 Marietta Masonic Temple / Kennesaw Lodge No. 33
547 Roswell St. NE, Marietta, GA 30060

Come join the Georgia Lodge of Research for fellowship, reflection, and an evening particularly fitting for the eve of All Hallows’ Eve.

Out of darkness, Light.
Lux ex Tenebris.

Continue the Journey: Scottish Rite Reunion — September 19

Brethren, the Scottish Rite Orient of Georgia Reunion is coming to Atlanta on Saturday, Sep 19, and there are two ways Kennesaw Lodge Brothers can be part of it.

If you are a Master Mason who has considered joining the Scottish Rite, this is an excellent opportunity. The Orient-wide class will bring Brothers from across Georgia together in Atlanta, with the 4°, 14°, 18°, 30°, 31°, and 32° being presented during the day. The special Reunion fee for candidates is $150. For existing SR Masons, it is only $10 for lunch.

But there is something equally important for our Brothers who are already Scottish Rite Masons:

The Reunion is for you, too. A Reunion isn't simply a day for initiating new members. It is exactly what the name says: an opportunity for Scottish Rite Masons to reunite, enjoy fellowship, welcome new Brothers, and continue exploring the lessons of the Rite.

Come back and watch the degrees again. Sit in on the classroom sessions for the degrees being communicated. Support the candidates and the Brothers performing the ritual.

One of the wonderful things about Scottish Rite Masonry is that you don't "finish" a degree simply because you've received it once. The more often you see a degree, the more you notice. The more you study it, the more its symbolism and lessons begin to mean.**

Whether this will be your first Scottish Rite Reunion or your fiftieth, come spend the day with your Brothers.

📅 Saturday, September 19, 2026
📍 Atlanta Masonic Temple
🕖 Registration begins at 7:00 AM; the first degree begins at 8:00 AM, with a Ring and Capping Ceremony scheduled for that evening.

Candidates, members, and Brothers returning to experience the degrees again: this Reunion is for all of us.

Our Brother Michael McCabe made arrangements for the Georgia Masonic Children’s Home to attend the Gwinnett Stripers baseball game today. The kids also enjoyed an opportunity to play catch in the outfield. Thank you to Brother McCabe for organizing the activity, and to all the brethren who were able to participate.

The brothers really enjoyed the pork loin last night, so here is the recipe. I used fresh rosemary and fresh thyme, since that's what I had available. Keep in mind this makes approximately 20 pounds or pork loin! (Scaled down version in comments.) Enjoy!

Kennesaw Lodge No. 33 hopes everyone had a happy Fourth of July and extends a sincere thank‑you to all who supported our Independence Day breakfast fundraiser in Marietta.

It was a great morning of food, fellowship, and patriotism as the celebration rolled right past the lodge, and we are grateful to the Brethren, families, friends, and members of the community who joined us and helped make the event a success.

Your support strengthens our ability to serve others and to continue the Masonic work of building better men, better families, and stronger communities here in Marietta.

One of the greatest joys in Freemasonry is seeing generations connected through the Craft.

At our regular communication this week, we were pleased to welcome our newest Master Mason to his first stated meeting since being raised to the Sublime Degree on Saturday morning.

What made the occasion especially meaningful was a presentation by his father, who shared the Masonic history of their family, including stories and mementos from his grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-uncle, all of whom were Masons. It was a moving reminder that while Masonry teaches timeless principles, it is also a living tradition passed from one generation to the next.

The evening was filled with fellowship, reflection, and appreciation for the bonds that unite us as Brothers.

Congratulations again to our newest Master Mason. We look forward to sharing many years of Masonic labor and fellowship with you.
