Need an easy idea for your next Marion day? Start with the museums. Marion County has local history, historic exhibits, and small-town stories you won’t find just anywhere. 🏛️🌾

Jen here with a little life update! 😊

Life has been wonderfully busy lately.

At the Historic Elgin Hotel, Tammy and I are diving into a brand-new adventure as we prepare for our very first wedding show in Wichita this July. Exciting? Absolutely. Terrifying? Also, absolutely. 😆

At home, we've added a tiny new kitten Maxine to the family, and somehow, she already runs the house. As if that wasn't enough excitement, I've been getting settled into my new home in Hillsboro while also trying to sell my house in Marion. I love my new place, but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss my old house a little. It's amazing how attached we become to the places where so many memories were made.

My husband has taken up golfing again, which means I've recently been promoted to "Golf Cart Queen." He keeps promising he'll teach me to play, but he's actually really good... and I'm not entirely sure I want that kind of pressure. 😂

And then there's Emily. Between softball and summer theater, I spend a lot of time driving from one activity to the next. But I couldn't be prouder of her. She took a ball to the face AND got hit by a wild pitch within the first few practices of the season and still keeps showing up with a smile and determination.

So that's a little snapshot of life these days—busy, chaotic, exciting, and full of things I'm grateful for.

This July, Tammy and I will be stepping out from behind the scenes and into our very first bridal show at the Wichita Wedding Show!
To say we're excited would be an understatement. To say we're nervous... well, that would also be true. 😅
I've spent years helping couples plan intimate, meaningful weddings here at the Historic Elgin Hotel, but apparently now I'm also learning the mysterious world of Instagram reels, stories, hashtags, and all the things. Let's just say there have been moments when I felt like I needed a teenager on speed dial.
But honestly? We're having so much fun.
Every wedding we host is unique, and getting to share the magic of intimate weddings in a historic setting is one of our favorite things. We can't wait to meet future couples and show them what makes the Historic Elgin Hotel so special.
Over the next few weeks you'll probably see a lot more wedding content from us as we prepare for the show—and maybe a few behind-the-scenes adventures as I continue my Instagram education. 😂

Look who's first on the Kansas Tourism' Relaxation Constellation! I think they got it right. We are the place to start and then head over to S&S MedSpa LLC just around the corner. Enjoy crafting something unique at the Crafty Cactus. Stroll around Marion County Park and Lake and then head to Parlour 1886 for a meal fit for royalty. We have everything here to make your getaway RELAXING!

Their courage and sacrifice are woven into the story of this country — and into small towns like ours where freedom is cherished deeply.

Today, we remember.
We reflect.
And we hold gratitude in our hearts for those who never made it home.
