8 years ago, the biggest part of our story started during a trip on Labor Day weekend. Our teamwork and dedication to each other is the foundation for what we have to give this business. Everything is possible with love, trust in God and hard work.

This post isnā€™t meant to be a complaint. Itā€™s simply part of venue ownership. Itā€™s a pleasure to take care of this historic property and we could not do it without the business thriving. We appreciate your grace when things arenā€™t perfect, or being worked on. But I promise nothing goes unnoticed.

Weā€™ve had days of multiple crews out here working at the same time to get things buttoned up in between check outs and check ins. Thankful that we are nearing the end of the project list, for now šŸ¤ž

What a day of inspirationā€¦ People buzzing with ideas, sharing successes and troubleshooting pain points as the wedding season crosses the half way point. The pause today to be together with peers in the industry was such an important way to reflect.

Today I felt like I truly belonged. I wasnā€™t a new comer, Iā€™ve found a niche at the Villa that we love to serve, and weā€™re doing it joyfully. Year 5 of owning this business will be the best year yet.

Summer has been so busy, but I donā€™t like to say itā€™s been flying byā€¦ weā€™re creating a space that you can relax and enjoy your company. Weā€™ve piled events on top of lodging almost every week. We take each groupā€™s purpose into consideration while planning and preparing.

We have hosted so many celebrations under the sun and stars. Each one has its own story, personalities and feel. We love it all!

This week I attended a roundtable discussion about things concerning our businesses, hosted by . It was refreshing to be supported in action and by our ideas being taken seriously. Excited for some new things to offer our community and guests. If youā€™re a business and havenā€™t joined our local chamber, I highly recommend it!

I returned back to the Villa somewhat surprised by all the spring blooms- I canā€™t believe these peonies already šŸ˜ You really do have to stop and smell the flowers sometimes šŸŒ·

First, thank you to City of Marshall, MI and volunteers for the coordination and planting of our new tree! It brings the count of trees that we have planted on the property since owning up to 43 šŸ˜… I'm excited to see this buckeye grow!

Also thankful for the unexpected day of little helpers with me here to clear the storm damage. Luckily no trees down, just lots of big limbs. Weā€™re cleaned up and ready to welcome our full house for the weekend!

We're sorry to share that the bakery pop-up planned with Farrand Hall (4/26) has been cancelled. They have ceased operations at all locations at this time.

It is time for us to jump into our busiest time of year! These events through the winter and spring have been such a great way to engage with our local community here in Marshall. We're looking forward to hosting many traveling guests here over the next 6 months. Wedding & event season, we're ready! šŸ’
