Sometimes the best thing you bring home from a trip isn’t on your packing list… 🐱🐾 During a stay at Best Western Plus Red River Inn in Clarendon, Texas, a family noticed their dogs kept fixating on a box behind the property. On their final morning walk before checkout, they noticed a tiny kitten run into the box. With no other kittens or mom in sight, they brought the box inside for help.
“The hotel and staff were abundantly helpful and kind… several employees were eager to help, and a staff member named George took the lead, immediately putting us in a smaller conference room so the kitten would be safe.”
George helped the family get the kitten out of the box, grabbed him some food and sent them off with a makeshift carrier for the car ride home. The family hit the road back to Colorado with their newest travel buddy, whom their daughter London quickly nicknamed her “Best Weston," a name inspired by our hotel.
Weston (now officially named Winston!) is thriving with his new family in Colorado. He was immediately treated for fleas, has gained weight and is already using his litter box consistently. Now an indoor cat, Winston spends his days playing with his toy mice, birdwatching and, of course, taking cat naps. 🥹💛
