Another day on the trail. Had a little rain the last few days. Just enough to really green everything up. Took Skippy for his first spin since he was sick. He seems to have snapped back to normal. Took Mary and Slyvia for a ride while all the other guests went exploring on their own.

Today was a pretty epic day. I took our new guest Mary Smith and Karla Riggs and Brad on a long ride out into the back country. It was fun to show Karla an area she had never ridden in after coming here 5 or 6 times. The best part of the day was Karla spotted two elk, a nice bull and a cow. It's only the second time in all the years I've lived here that I have encountered elk outside the park. I've seen signs of them many time, but elk outside the park and not easy to spot. It was a beautiful spring day after a nice rain. No heat and no excessive wind finally. Raining again now and hopefully another nice riding day tomorrow after it dries out.

When I got these hats, I thought who in the world will be brave enough to buy a white hat! Lol, of course the guy who can't stay clean for 5 minutes picks this one! Only because it had blue on it....his favorite color! Jeff King

I have the best guests/paid friends as Jeff calls them. This is the 4th time here for this Wisconsin group. Not only were they fun as always, they left the place way better than the found it...to the extreme. Sam installed one of our 3 new doors and did a fantastic job. The door is beautiful and now works great! Steve told us if we got him parts he would vent our outhouse....who knew it no longer smells! If anyone else who is coming is a carpenter and wants to bring tools to install my 2 other doors let me know! I will happily pay you and/or trade camping.

It's always fun when the repeat guests come back. Today I took the Bucholz gang and Joe to the Fryburg entrance of the park. This was my third trip there and found some more new ground. It was a fun adventure. I was expecting it to be miserable, but we started early and it was pretty darn nice with the breeze.

Best kind of rain days. We got rain in the morning that unfortunately didn't amount to much so the guests got to go for a beautiful ride this evening. Plus, they taught me how to make things with lariat ropes. I think I have a new hobby for this winter. Julie Studnicka and Val.

Julie, Val and I had a pretty amazing ride today. Yesterday was cold and miserable so we didn't ride. While we were visiting last night Julie told me how much she wanted to find a shed and see pronghorn. We scored big time on both. When we left, I was going to take them on a short ride today and when we got out there it was so nice I decided to range out further. That was a big score, because we stumbled upon a trophy deer that someone probably shot and couldn't find. Luckily for them the ladies that were here last week decided to head home when I gave them the choice to range out further or they would of scored this rack! Right before we got back to camp there were pronghorn by our fence! I told her to lower her standards for the rest of the week! Julie Studnicka and Val Gordon
