To friends, family, guests, and returning guests who have become friends: After over 24 years, I have sold Oaklawn. Oaklawn has been my home, my retreat, my albatross, my fortress, my sactuary, my farm, my baby. She's been a labor of love and a place that felt like home to many that came to sit on my porch or share a cup of tea or glass of wine. Countless hours were spent with guests around the breakfast table. I will never forget the parties, gatherings, and wonderful annual Christmas merriment. I can also remember the early days of wall paper steaming, paint stripping, salvaging, dumpster diving and planting of flower gardens. Oh, and shoveling! Selling Oaklawn is like putting one's child up for adoption. I wish the new owner, who was a past guest at Oaklawn, all the best.
I look forward to reconnecting with friends and family. Traveling. Exploring what other mischief I might get in to. One day at a time. Please keep in touch.
Sharing my prayer for all of us that 2022 will be a year of good health, gratitude, and continuing to reach out to hold hands and support each other. Be well.
