Some Hotel history.

Millheim PA - West Main Street - National Hotel...

1941 – NBC began television broadcasting.

1941 – Walker & Dora Henninger Henninger’s owned the hotel during the Second World War. Walker worked for Harvey Ward – 132 S. Allen St. Walker had Henny’s B B Q 151 S. Allen Street 1941 Paid $3,850 for the Hotel and a lot behind the hotel

1949 Sold Hotel for $11,000. Sold lot to Stan Bierly $350. After 1949 Walker had Henny’s Restaurant at 137 E. Beaver

The only phone was a pay phone booth and the number 90841947 –

Clifford Bottorf was seriously injured when he fell off the Millheim Hotel porch roof during a chimney fire at the hotel.

1949 – Ted and Mary Breon had hotel for 20 years.

1950 – Korean War began.

1952 – The Today Show started on TV.

1952 – State Department made the movie “Water Pipes for Millheim.”

1963 – The “Millheim Journal” ended after 150 years of publication.

1968 – Mary Breon sold the hotel furnishings and had an $8,000 bid for the building but didn’t take the bid.

1970 – Farmers National Bank owned Hotel for 10 months.

1970 – Clarence and Annie Long bought the hotel and the next property. And added this room to the property.

1978 – Wayne Clickner had the hotel (1977-1981).

1982 – Bud Wagner refurbished hotel – 4 dining rooms and 18 guest rooms

2006 – Buddy & Beth Cowher purchased hotel and have redone much of the building.
