The minute I laid my eyes on this historic property I knew it was something special! And I had to save them before they were torn down. It was a grueling renovation, and these Villas weren’t transformed without a fight.

But after about 18 months of renovation with over 100 crewmembers, these 1931 villas were brought back to life.

Unpopular opinion: decor that’s not “matchy matchy” is more fun!

My number one decor tip I’ve learned over the last nine years is to style your space with coordinating items, but don’t be matchy matchy.

Case in point, my Annie villa is full of joyful interest and intrigue! I mixed a variety of patterns as well as textures. In addition, I brought in both new and thrift items. Can you tell which is which? And this space came together, amazingly well. You can’t help but walk in and smile! The decor in this villa is an unexpected eclectic mix and it’s just so fun and inviting!

They said small towns were dying. We had other plans. ✨

There’s something pretty special happening in Minden, Louisiana right now. Type MINDEN below and I’ll send you a post where you can read more. 💗

It’s happening because of the dreamers who see possibility where others see empty buildings. The risk takers who sign the papers, pick up the paintbrush, open the doors and pray people walk through them. The small business owners, investors, creatives and community members who believe our little town is worth betting on.

I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve gotten to play a small part in that story, bringing a few forgotten spaces back to life and watching them become places where people shop, stay, gather and make memories.

But the best part? I’m only one of MANY.

There are people all over Minden dreaming big, taking chances and doing the hard work of creating something beautiful here.

And on nights like this, when the sun sets over downtown and everything turns gold, I can’t help but think…
