PRESLEY HAILE | OCTOBER 22

Because you want the story to be, “I saw her on the rooftop of The Crazy Water Hotel before I had to wait in line to see her.”

Presley Haile feels like one of those artists you discover right before everyone else does.

Small-town Texas roots. A voice that makes you stop and listen. Songs built from loss, love, faith and lived experience. The kind of storytelling that feels less like a performance and more like sitting around swapping stories with someone you’ve known for years.

She started playing local stages at 16. Mountain Daughter went on to earn hundreds of thousands of streams. A performance of Mosquito caught the attention of Columbia Records, and now she’s stepping into the next chapter of a career that feels like it’s just getting started.

On October 22, you don’t have to see her from the back of a packed venue.
You can see Presley Haile & Full Band on the rooftop of The Crazy Water Hotel.

Under the Texas sky. In Mineral Wells. While the room is still intimate enough to feel like you were there before everyone knew to be.

Tickets are available now.

General Admission $35 | Front Row $50 | VIP $100
Complimentary light bites included with all tickets.

There is a certain quiet that comes with a full hotel.

Over the past nine days, that quiet has meant something a little different.

Since the Ross Fire began impacting our neighbors and surrounding communities, our hotel has had the privilege of being a place of rest for many of the firefighters who came from near and far to help protect Palo Pinto County.

Seeing fire trucks lined along NW 4th St. each morning has been a humbling reminder of just how many people answered the call.

To every fire department, first responder and crew member who made their way to our community: THANK YOU.

Thank you for the long days, the nights away from your own families, the miles traveled and the work you have done to protect people and places that may not even be your own.

We hope that within these walls you found a hot shower, a comfortable bed and even if only for a few hours, a little rest.

From all of us at The Crazy Water Hotel, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing up for Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County and our surrounding communities.

This picture is the definition of grateful.

There’s a lot more to these stories than what happened on the field.

Jim Sundberg is giving us just a little tease of what you can expect September 10 when he joins Tom Grieve and Steve Buechele for The Rooftop Bullpen at The Crazy Water Hotel.

Between these three Rangers Legends are decades of experience from nearly every side of professional baseball — playing on the field, coaching, managing, working in the front office and broadcasting the game.

They’ve been in the clubhouse. In the dugout. Behind the scenes. Behind the microphone. They’ve watched the Rangers organization and the game of baseball evolve through generations.

That’s what makes this conversation different.
And former Texas Rangers alumnus Jim Kern may have said it best:

“Fans, this is an opportunity you will not want to miss! These are 3 of the best Rangers to play the game in the last 50 years, with more inside info on the Rangers & the game that you will not hear anywhere else. Don’t miss this opportunity.”

Come hear the stories from the men who didn’t just play the game — they’ve spent their careers living it from nearly every angle.

There will be a time to celebrate. For now, our community comes first.

Mineral Wells Social Lounge has made the decision to postpone their opening events as our community continues to navigate the impact of the fires west of Mineral Wells.

We look forward to celebrating their opening when the time is right. Until then, our thoughts and prayers remain with our neighbors who have been affected and with the first responders and crews continuing to serve our community.

We’ll share a new opening date when one is announced.

In light of the fires impacting our area and the weight being carried by so many throughout our community, we have made the decision to postpone tonight’s Off the Clock Happy Hour. This gathering was created to bring together the first responders and healthcare professionals who serve our community, many of whom are currently serving, responding, caring for others and carrying an extraordinary load.

Tonight simply isn’t the night to ask them to step away. A new date will be announced when the time is right.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires and with those working tirelessly to protect and care for our community. Thank you for understanding and thank you to those who continue to show up when our community needs you most.

Was it something borrowed?
A strand of pearls.
A mother’s hands.
One of those quiet details that makes you wonder about the story behind it.
Was it something borrowed? Something passed down? A family tradition saved for this exact day?
Weddings are filled with beautiful details, but often it’s the ones with a story attached that mean the most.
Something old. Something new. Something borrowed. Something blue.
Now we’re curious: what was your “something borrowed,” and what was the story behind it?

✨️ Forkd Find of the Day: OAK & THIRD.✨️

Tucked inside The Crazy Water Hotel in downtown Mineral Wells is a restaurant that was created to be more than a traditional hotel restaurant.

Oak & Third was developed as part of the continued restoration and reimagining of The Crazy Water Hotel, with the goal of becoming a dining destination for Mineral Wells while still feeling approachable to the local community and welcoming to travelers staying at the hotel.

From the beginning, the team wanted Oak & Third to stand on its own as a restaurant while still feeling connected to the history, character and energy of the hotel and Mineral Wells.

The team summed up that philosophy perfectly:
“Elevated is the environment, not the attire.”
Oak & Third is designed to fit a lot of different occasions. You can come in for a date night, celebrate something important, sit at the bar for Happy Hour, bring the family, or walk over after spending the afternoon downtown.

Executive Chef Stefon Rishel leads the kitchen. He has spent his career developing restaurant concepts throughout Texas, and Oak & Third gave him the opportunity to bring that experience to Mineral Wells while creating something specifically for the community.

Oak & Third is a scratch kitchen. Many of the dishes, sauces and components are prepared in house. The restaurant is also 100% seed oil free and fries with beef tallow. Chef Stefon prioritizes quality ingredients, and the team works with local and regional vendors whenever possible.

If it is your first visit, Oak & Third has one clear recommendation:

Try the PB&J Wings.

They feature spicy Thai peanut sauce, blackberry coulis, chopped peanuts and fresh cilantro
Oak & Third described them this way:

“It’s almost like Pad Thai slapped a PB&J in the face.”

The dish has followed Chef Stefon for nearly a decade and has become one of his signature dishes.

You can also substitute U13 shrimp or cauliflower. The PB&J Shrimp have developed a following of their own.

Chef Stefon’s current favorite is the Prime Rib French Dip, served on a local bun with Gruyère and au jus.

Oak & Third also has a strong R&D culture in the kitchen. Chef Stefon is known for bringing test dishes out to familiar faces and regulars to get their feedback.

One recent R&D item was a Lengua Cheesesteak layered with rajas, blistered onions and poblanos, topped with Monterey Jack cheese on a locally made hoagie bun.

The team is hoping it eventually makes its way onto the menu.

Oak & Third’s Happy Hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM and rotates every two weeks. It gives the culinary team a chance to experiment with new dishes and flavors, and some of those ideas have eventually made their way onto the regular menu.

There is also Fried Chicken Sunday.

On the last Sunday of every month, the culinary team serves an eight piece fried chicken dinner featuring the entire bird for $30.

One regular described it this way:

“It takes me back to my childhood and my grandmother’s Sunday after church fried chicken.”

Oak & Third also regularly hosts wine and spirit pairing dinners, chef collaboration dinners, community gatherings and other culinary events throughout the year.

Because Oak & Third is located inside The Crazy Water Hotel, a visit can also include the hotel’s shops and the original Crazy Water Coffee & Water Bar before or after your meal.

One thing the team especially wants local diners to know is that Oak & Third is not only for special occasions.

You can celebrate an anniversary or have a date night there, but you can also come in wearing jeans, grab a burger and a drink, bring your family for lunch, meet friends for Happy Hour, enjoy Fried Chicken Sunday, or simply decide you do not feel like cooking.

Their words say it best:

“Elevated is the environment, not the attire.”

Oak & Third wants to feel like Mineral Wells’ restaurant, a place locals are proud to claim and visitors are excited to discover.
