OUTDOOR REPORT

🤔Are we a bass lake or are we a walleye lake?🎣 We're both! 🏆

📷: Congrats to Colton Kelle and Zach Burke (Team Jigging Junkies) for bagging the biggest bass this weekend (a 4lb. 5oz. "Nebraskan golden nugget") at the Silted Water Bass LLC tournament.

🎣 Small mouth bass are being caught on the dam and rocky points. Some walleye are being caught in 12-25 foot of water, with live bait. Catfish are being caught regularly around the whole lake. Trout can be caught at Lake Ogallala but a better bite is happening in the channel and river below Lake Ogallala.

Water temperature is around 62-64°.

🏖 Boat ramp sand removal is planned on every Monday and Thursday. This week the second removal will be Friday due to the forecasted winds on Wednesday and Thursday, which will make sand move around with the wave action. A contracted excavation of the sand at the ramps is planned for June 31- July 2. More info coming soon.

💧 Elevation is 3,222.6 ft or 733,500 ac-ft (An acre foot is one acre with a foot of water on it, this translates to about one football field with a foot of water on it.)

Inflow to Lake McConaughy this week = 180 cubic feet per second.
Outflow from Lake McConaughy = 3,000 cubic feet per second.

🔸Boats and jet skis are advised to avoid traveling west of Sand Point. (Sand Point is directly north of Bayside Golf) Keystone-Lemoyne Fire & Rescue officials say there is a danger of vessels getting stuck in the sand/mud at the west end of the lake in the river area due to low water levels.

Reservations season is here, so remember to go online at https://outdoornebraska.gov/ and click reservations on the top right corner of the screen, or call the Reservations hot line at 1-844-637-2757 from 8-5 Monday to Friday and 8-4 Saturday and Sunday.
⛺️Reservations for beach camping may be made 30 days in advance and reservations for modern camp grounds with electricity can be made 180 days in advance.

🔥 Despite some recent rain, conditions are still very dry. Red Flag Warnings are frequently in effect in our area. Please use caution with campfires. They must be in a pit and monitored at all times.
