Hello everyone. This is Ruthie, Karen and Steve's oldest daughter.
Many know that my mom, Karen, passed away in July of 2020. My father, Steve, recently passed away on June 9, 2025 after a short and hard fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer that was diagnosed in February and quickly spread.
Our family has owned the North Star for 20 years. I distinctly remember June 6, 2005 when I was moved from my comfortable city life in Lapeer to this tiny little town with big character.
Our parents loved this property, the atmosphere, and all of the guests over the years who became friends. My siblings and I realize that as much as we love this place, it is too much for us. We all have our own families, 11 children between us, and are located in different areas.
The time has come to sell the North Star to someone who has the time and love to restore it to its full potential.
