LIGHT ✨ If you’ve ever had the opportunity to stay at Bayou Long Beard Airbnb, you know how dreamy the light is 🤗! It stops me in my tracks whenever I walk in and the light reflecting off of the water is dancing on the walls. These large picture windows facing the water at sunset are pretty incredible and make the perfect trio in this space! I hope you’ll have another chance to stay or stay for the first time before we retire this special place! 🛶 it holds so many memories!

HISTORY 📖

This desk was handmade by Heather and Brandon Land, and I still remember the first time I saw it — knowing all the history it was created to hold. 🤲🏻🥹Tucked beneath the glass of this desk are young photos of Clay and his brother and little snapshots of the family and story that started it all.

This space was built for Clay’s grandparents by his parents and they poured themselves into the labor of love that became where they lived out their years overlooking the bayou! Later, we turned it into Bayou Long Beard .

After our guests check out, we often find ourselves gathered around this desk reading the love letters they leave behind. 💌 More times than I can count, their words have brought us to tears — stories of rest, peace, reconnection, quiet moments, and memories made here.

It’s more than a desk. It’s history. It’s heart. And it keeps holding stories. ✨ Thank you for this wonderful piece of our story 🤍

As we begin the slow, sentimental process of retiring Bayou Long Beard this year, we want to share the stories behind the details that made this space so special 🤍

🖼️ This painting belonged to Clay’s parents—an original of Gloucester, MA, painted by a local artist where his dad grew up (fun fact: The Perfect Storm was filmed there 🌊). That moody coastal palette became the heartbeat of BLB’s design. Keeping in mind we are overlooking the water and wanting to incorporate family pieces.. it was pretty PERFECT! 🤩

And yes… we’ve always loved collecting beautiful bottles for this cabinet—purely for the vibes, never the pour 🥃😉
