Winaukee has always been more than just a place. It’s people, stories, lessons, and connections that stay with us long after the summer ends.

Inspired by Humans of New York, More Than Just A Summer Camp is a project by Squibbs & Rupert that captures the stories of the people who have shaped Camp Winaukee into what it is today- campers, staff, alumni, and community members, past and present.

Through short interviews and photographs, we’ll be sharing Winaukee stories, some rooted in camp, some shaped by life beyond it, all connected by the values that make Winaukee what it is. These stories will be shared here for the wider community to enjoy.

This is about honoring the legacy, the laughter, the lessons, and the people behind it all. Because Winaukee is, and always has been, more than just a summer camp

Every once in a while we got a random package or piece of mail that holds little treasures of our past. Whether from alumni brothers or family members sorting through a lifetime of memories, we love looking back at glimpses of Winaukee’s storied legacy. The photographs we received in the mail recently had us revisiting the ‘good ol’ days’. Boys have been learning to sail, waterski and make friends long before there were even porches on the Junior row cabins! Stay tuned for more fun throwbac photos over the next few months. Tag friends if toi find them in photos. Hold the Fort!
