As we’re moving into **cinnamon season** 🍎🍂, I thought this would be a good time to talk about something I get asked about at The Spice Tin…

**What’s the difference between Sri Lankan Cinnamon and Saigon Cinnamon?**

Because they really do taste different!

🌿 **Sri Lankan Cinnamon (Ceylon)**
This is the softer, more delicate cinnamon. It has a naturally sweet flavor with almost floral and citrusy notes. It’s wonderful when you want cinnamon to complement the other flavors instead of taking over.

Think fruit, oatmeal, lighter baked goods and even tea or coffee.

🔥 **Saigon Cinnamon**
This is your BIG cinnamon.

It’s bold, warm, sweet and spicy with that wonderful cinnamon aroma that hits you as soon as you open the jar.

This is the one I love when I really want that cinnamon flavor to come through think apple pie, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin bread, French toast and all those cozy fall recipes.

Neither one is “better.”

**It really depends on what you’re making and the flavor you want.**

And if you’ve only ever grabbed a jar labeled “cinnamon” at the grocery store, you may be surprised by just how different they are.

Next time you’re in The Spice Tin, ask us about them.

Come for the stomping, stay to wander the historic town, discover local w**eries, browse the shops and make an entire autumn weekend out of it.

Some places celebrate fall with pumpkin spice. West Point celebrates it with lumberjacks. 🪓😂🍂

Welcome to Lumberjack Day in Calaveras County, where flannel feels especially appropriate and the first Saturday in October comes with a parade, crafts, food, a soap-box derby and, naturally, some good old-fashioned logging competition.

Axe throwing? Yep. Chainsaw carving? Of course.

Basically, if you’ve ever thought fall festivals could use a few more lumberjacks, West Point has you covered.
